Mind Numbingly Beautiful!

This was found on www.io9.com

This is Kuroshio Sea the 2nd largest aquarium tank in the world, which is in Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, Japan.

The main tank called the "Kuroshio Sea" holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world's second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. That's one huge and expensive piece of acrylic!!!

Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank.

Do yourself a favor and watch it in HD. The song is "Please Don't Go" from Barcelona.

Alsa Corp

I am on the email list for these guys.
I have never used their products so I am not vouching for them but this caught my eye.

MultiChrome - "a sprayable chrome paint combined with an intense prismatic color change effect"
Chrome from one viewing angle and a color burst from the other.

As I think about it this could look kinda cool used somewhere interesting - but it will only be a thin line to cross to get to tacky.

Probably not very eco-friendly either.

But check out the site - check out the products and let me know if you ever use them or have any alternatives.

Jen Stark - Paper Sculpture

These are just stunning beautiful and a true test of patience and skill for the scalpel wielder.

Would love to see something like this at a scale to be walked through.

'Wave' by Suzy Lee

'Wave' is a beautiful book by Suzy Lee.

Having a wondrous daughter is a great excuse to spend hours reading so called children's books.
'Wave' has just become a firm favourite. Molly is too young to really enjoy it now but that only gives me something to look forward to.

I am not going to ruin the book for you and don't want to show you too many pages, but its such a fun story that really captures a young spirit at play and also plays with the conventions of 'a book page'.

Go buy it or support your library.

Eco Starbucks

So I guess that I am missing the real economics here - but this struck me - and surely Starbucks would want to avoid this thought crossing other peoples minds too. You want to promote your earthy eco-friendly natural image and therefore have banners printed showing your graphics on a hessian sack background. Wouldn't it be more striking, more appropriate if not even eco friendly to recycle some of your own coffee sacks and print onto banners made of those!!
